Cartoonist Jeff Parker is the son of Brant Parker, co-creator of the daily comic strip Wizard of Id. The younger Parker worked as his father's assistant on the strip for 10 years before taking over drawing the strip. He worked with original writer Johnny Hart, of B. C fame, until Hart's death in 2007. Jeff Parker continues to draw Wizard of Id, which appears worldwide in over 1,000 newspapers as of this biography. Lightly toned. Signature and drawing have both bled lightly but are legible. Lightly rounded edges. Otherwise in fine condition.

Dynamite Comics Zootopia Writer Jeff Parker Interview
Today, we have the pleasure of interviewing the writer behind the Negaduck and the upcoming highly anticipated Zootopia comic series from Dynamite…Jeff Parker.
DuckTalks: How did you get into the comic industry?
Jeff Parker: I started as an artist, which is not easy but it’s even harder to get editors to read your scripts than it is to show them visual storytelling. So I went to conventions for years, showing my new pages every time- and I do mean that I had new pages every show, I didn’t keep showing old work- and met experienced artists who helped me work on my art, environments, figures, everything. Then for a few years i drew other writers’ scripts until I came out with my graphic novel The Interman. That was well-received and companies started asking me to write. At some point everyone forgot I drew! But you may have noticed I drew the action figure variant for one of the Negaduck issues.

More Magic with the Next Generation of ‘Wizard of Id’ Cartoonists
The Parker and Hart families have collaborated for over 52 years, charming audiences with the “Wizard of Id” comic strip. In December 2015, a third generation took over production of the strip. Hart’s grandson Mason Mastroianni (the “B.C.” cartoonist since 2007) is now illustrating the strip, following in the footsteps of Jeff Parker and Jeff’s wife, Nicola, who had picked up this role upon the retirement of Brant Parker, Jeff’s father. The writing duties will continue with Hart’s grandson Mick Mastroianni, who has been writing “Wizard of Id” since 2007.
The magic all began with cartoonists Brant Parker and Johnny Hart, who launched the comic strip in 1964. “Wizard of Id” has an unusual history of mentorship and collaboration between the Parkers and the Harts.
