Alexander Rae "Alec" Baldwin III (born April 3, 1958)[1] is an American actor, comedian, and movie producer. He is the oldest and the most well-known of the Baldwin brothers, a family in movies and television. His career has brought him Academy Award, Emmy, and Golden Globe nominations. He has hosted Saturday Night Live several times, including as Donald Trump. He played the television executive Jack Donaghy in the NBCsitcom30 Rock.
Early life
[change | change source]Alec Baldwin was born in Amityville, New York and raised in Massapequa, New York.[2] He has three younger brothers, actors Daniel (born 1960), William (born 1963) and Stephen (born 1965).[2] He also has two sisters. They were all raised Roman Catholic.

He is known for his leading and supporting roles in a variety of genres, from comedy to drama, and has received numerous accolades including three Primetime Emmy Awards, three Golden Globe Awards and eight Screen Actors Guild Awards as well as nominations for an Academy Award, a BAFTA Award, and Tony Award.
A member of the Baldwin family, Baldwin's film career began with a string of roles in 1988 in films such as Beetlejuice, Working Girl and Married to the Mob before playing Jack Ryan in The Hunt for Red October (1990). After years of legal back and forth following a deadly 2021 shooting on the set of his movie Rust, Alec Baldwin escaped criminal liability for good. On July 12, four days into the actor’s trial for involuntary manslaughter, a New Mexico judge found prosecutors and authorities unfairly withheld evidence and dismissed the case.
