Lynda Jean Cordova Carter (born July 24, 1951) is an American actress, singer, and beauty pageant contestant, best known for her portrayal of Wonder Woman in the television series Wonder Woman, aired on ABC and later on CBS from 1975 to 1979. Before her acting career, she was crowned Miss World USA in 1972 and finished in the top 15 at the Miss World 1972 pageant.[4]
Carter has appeared in a wide range of films and television series. She appeared in films such as Super Troopers (2001), and Sky High (2005), Super Troopers 2 (2018), and Wonder Woman 1984 (2020), where she made an uncredited cameo as Asteria. She also had a recurring role as U.S. President Olivia Marsdin on the series Supergirl (2016–2018). Additionally, she has participated in various television specials and series, including Two and a Half Men (2013), and The Muppet Show (1980).

Recently, the Washington Post included her in a list of the “best superhero performances of all time,” and she was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Lynda is currently preparing new music for release in 2023 and 2024, recorded in Nashville with longtime producer Kyle Lehning.
Lynda supports several nonprofit organizations and causes, working closely with City of Hope and TGen to research new drug therapies for myelofibrosis patients, as well as serving on the advisory board of the Smithsonian American Women’s History Museum. In addition, she supports the Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation, The Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement, The Coelho Center for Disability Law, Policy and Innovation, Susan G. Carter was born on July 24, 1951, in Phoenix, Arizona, as Linda Jean Cordoba Carter, the youngest of three children born to Colby and Jean Carter. Her parents divorced when she was ten years old, and her mother, who is of Spanish and Mexican descent, found work at a Motorola factory to support the family. Lynda admired her mother, telling People Weekly, "She taught me more than anything to survive in a dignified, honorable, gracious way." Lynda, who changed the spelling of her first name during grade school, was exceptionally tall during her youth, leading kids to call her "Olive Oyl," referring to Popeye's lanky girlfriend. "I was taller than all the boys except the tackles on the football team," she told TV Guide. "And all my girl friends seemed to be 5-foot-3-inch blonds. I even was rejected as a pompon girl because I towered over everyone else." Always athletic, Carter competed in swimming and volleyball.
