Georgie Parker grew up in South Australia as an avid football fan. However, with limited interest from other young girls in Georgie’s hometown, and little opportunity to play, Georgie Parker turned to field hockey. Having now played over 100 games as an international field hockey player, Georgie has represented Australia in a multitude of tournaments, including the 2014 Commonwealth Games and the 2016 Summer Olympics. She now resides in Melbourne where her media career has taken off with many TV roles including hosting and being a permanent panel member on weekly AFL shows, an expert commentator at the 2020 (2021) Tokyo Olympics and 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games and as host of the 2022 Winter Olympics alongside Basil Zempilas.

Georgina Parker (born 16 December 1964) is an Australian television soap actress and has also appeared in film and theatre. She is a double Gold Logie winner, best known for her acting roles in Australian soap operas; as Lucy Gardiner (later Tyler) in A Country Practice; as Theresa "Terri" Sullivan in All Saints; and as Roo Stewart in Home and Away, as well as being a presenter on the children's program Play School.

Early life

Parker was born in 1964. She grew up in the Sydney North Shore suburb of St Ives and attended St Ives North Public School[1] in primary and attended Abbotsleigh School for Girls, in Sydney. Parker is the daughter of iconic Australian furniture designer Tony Parker of Parker Furniture.[2]
