Popüler sahne adıyla Diamond Platnumz olarak bilinen Naseeb Abdul Juma Issack, Tanzanyalı bir bongo flava kayıt sanatçısı, dansçı, hayırsever ve iş adamıdır. WCB Wasafi Record Label, Wasafi Bet ve Wasafi Media'nın kurucusu ve CEO'sudur. Diamond, Doğu ve Orta Afrika'da büyük bir takipçi kitlesi kazanmıştır.[2] YouTube'da 900 milyon izlenme sayısına ulaşan ilk Afrika kökenli sanatçı oldu.[3]

Müzik kariyerine 2006 yılında 18 yaşındayken kıyafet satarak başladı. Kıyafet işinden kazandığı parayla şarkılar kaydediyordu ve sonunda R&B ile harmanlanmış bir Bongo flava şarkısı olan ilk single'ı "Toka Mwanzo "yu kaydetti. Şarkı ticari olarak başarılı olamadı.[7]

Dar es Salaam. When Diamond Platnumz was 17, he worked odd jobs selling secondhand clothing and pumping gas to try to save up money to book a recording session, but it wasn’t enough.

Eventually the singer, born Naseeb Abdul Juma Issack, sold his mother’s gold ring. “I told her I lost it in the bathroom — that it fell down the toilet,” says the now 31-year-old, calling from his home in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

The single from that studio session, “Toka Mwanzo,” which hinted at the R&B stylings he hadn’t yet developed, didn’t take off.

But the session did lead Diamond to his first manager, who paid for more studio time. In 2010, he released what became his breakthrough song, “Kamwambie,” which led to three major wins at the Tanzania Music Awards, and soon after, Diamond released his debut album of the same name.

Steeped in the bongo flava genre — known for its mix of American rap and East African taarab — Diamond’s music, which often turns heartbreak into uplifting anthems, found a fan base.

Diamond, whose real name is Naseeb Abdul Juma, was born on October 2nd, 1989 in Tandale, a ward in Tanzania's commercial capital Dar es Salaam.

Born to a humble family, Diamond's childhood had a number of challenges. At one point, he had to stay at his grandmother's home.

The singer was raised by his mother, Sanura Kassim, also known as Sandra.

Diamond pursued primary education in Tanzania from 1995 to 2002, and thereafter enrolled for secondary education. Records indicate that he completed high school education in 2006.

He, thereafter, tried his hand at several jobs, including selling second hand clothes, serving as a fuel station attendant and photographer.

But all this while, he kept his eye on the ball – music. He revealed in the past that he sold his mother's ring to raise studio fee.

"Toka Mwanzo", a song released in 2006, was Diamond's first recording, but he had to wait until 2010 to get his first breakthrough hit single "Kamwam
