Ichalkaranji (pronunciation^ⓘ[it͡səlkəɾəɳd͡ʒiː]) is a city in Kolhapur District, Maharashtra. It is situated at the bank of the Panchganga River. Its textile industry has led to the nickname 'Manchester City of Maharashtra'.

History

Ichalkaranji was a Marathajagir situated on the banks of the Panchganga River (Marathi: पंचगंगा नदी). It was ruled by the Babasaheb Ghorpade family for nearly two centuries until 1947. The dynasty of the Maratha rulers of Ichalkaranji has its origins in the middle of the seventeenth century. At that time, a poor Brahmin widow of the Joshi family, hailing from the coastal Konkan village of Mhapan near Vengurla, in the present-day Sindhudurg district, moved east over the mountainous Western Ghats with her seven-year-old son, Naro Mahadeo, to the village of Kapshi. The Maratha general Santaji Ghorpade, hailed from that village. September has been crazy, not normal crazy, as crazy….. (Well I was trying to think of some groundbreaking Jim Carry-level comparison that’d make my readers instantly laugh their souls out but as always my sarcasm is only as good as my dating life)

Right from completing a year at RedBull and getting back on the project where it all started, The RedBull Juggaurnaut, to Seeing off Anupam Miheer (The asshole is being missed). From running around prepping for my Mid-session review and getting each submission rejected to celebrating Full on Onam with people I can call family. From having the Best Birthday in 22 years of my existence To finally getting to see one of my favourite bands perform live.

28th of September 2023, after finally moving to this small town of Idukki named Santhanpara we realised that as much as peace this place has to offer us, it also comes with its own set of problems, connectivity being the m
