Dame Carolyn Julia McCallDBE (born 13 September 1961)[1][2] is a British businesswoman. [3] She previously served as the chief executive of EasyJet from 2010 to 2017.[4]
Early life
McCall was born on 13 September 1961 in Bangalore, India. Her Scottish father, Arthur McCall, ran the Far East division of a US textile multinational and her Irish-born mother, Colleen McCall, worked for the British High Commission in India.[1][5] She was educated in India and Singapore until her teens, then at a Roman Catholic girls' boarding school in Derbyshire. She studied for a BA degree in history and politics at the University of Kent, Canterbury.

Carolyn joined from easyJet where she was CEO for over 7 years. Before that she was CEO of the Guardian and Observer and then the Guardian Media Group . She has been a non executive director of New Look, Tesco, Lloyds and Burberry where she was SID. She is currently a NED at Bridgepoint and a Trustee of the Royal Academy of Arts. In 2016 Carolyn was awarded a Damehood for services to the aviation industry, she also received an OBE in 2008 for services to women in business.
